Who
I am...
Like
a lot of people, I struggled to lose weight. All throughout high
school I saw myself as being on the heavy side. Throughout
high school and the birth of my two children I continued to gain more
weight. I had tried so many different diet plans.
On some of them I would lose weight, only to gain it right back. I
Just couldn't keep the motivation. Though I smiled and people
felt
I was confident, inside I was miserable. A bird trapped in a cage and
I wanted out! I was not happy with myself. I had to learn to love me!!
In
January 2010 I was weighting in at 270 pounds. Enough was enough! I
made the choice that I wanted to change. Like I did all
the years before. Except this time I did make moves. I joined
Myfitness pal and began documenting everything I ate, my weight
and I became accountable. I changed
what I put into my mouth to feed my body. I watched my
portions and found substitutions for the foods that I wanted to eat,
for the things that I should be eating..Clean eating. I also got moving.
With my daughter I started taking walks, to jogging, then going to
the gym. Using the Machines, and doing some light
weights.
The weight started to come off. I went from 3 days a week, to five
days a week. I saw the changes and I felt accomplished,
and it pushed me to do more. Not only did my body respond by
changing...how I felt about me also changed!
It
soon became important for me to maintain focus on my total health.
Because no one else will do it for you. When you know better,
you do better. Choosing to remain in the dark about your health only
makes matters worse. Your good choices create a trickle
effect on our families and others. It made me Feel good more often. I
found out what it was like to have amazing
energy,
restful sleep, clear thinking, less fat, and more of a desire to get
out and join the rest of the world? Your body is meant
to operate this way, it’s just a matter of getting back in tune
with it and feeding it the proper fuel.
I
know how it feels to not have confidence in yourself and be depressed
because you just don’t feel pretty. I can relate to each
and every single person because I have been there and I am still a
work in progress.I am so thankful for the opportunity to help
others. I am happy to give up some of my time to help
someone else reach their goals and gain back their confidence, the
same way someone did for me.
